Study of Reproduction Biology of Lionfish Pterois Miles (Scorpaenidae) in Syrian Marine Waters

چکیده
The reproduction of Pterois miles, which is the Lessepsian species that invaded eastern coasts Mediterranean Sea, was studied. It established abundant populations along Syrian coast and began to compete with native in respect their diets and, habitats as well prey on them. study included analysis data 259 samples caught marine waters (2019–2020), results show this has two periods: a long period during summer short one fall. GSI% value, represents percentage gonad weight relative eviscerated body weight, for females 4.09±3.68% 3.28±1.94% fall, while value males 2.04±1.30% 1.14±1.33% Also, HSI% liver body, high both females. individuals are characterized by fertility, females, number eggs 115332–313575. length 24–32 cm visceral 166.67–311.81g. diameters were 39.84–43.47 microns. Therefore P.miles constitutes serious threat environment its wealth fish.

متن کاملGenetic population structure of the lionfish Pterois miles (Scorpaenidae, Pteroinae) in the Gulf of Aqaba and northern Red Sea.
The aim of this study is to reveal gene flow between populations of the coral reef dwelling lionfish Pterois miles in the Gulf of Aqaba and northern Red Sea. Due to the fjord-like hydrography and topology of the Gulf of Aqaba, isolation of populations might be possible. Analysis of 5' mitochondrial control region sequences from 94 P. miles specimens detected 32 polymorphic sites, yielding 38 ha...

Invasive species alter ecosystem integrity and functioning and are considered one of the major threats to biodiversity on a global scale. The indopacific lionfish (Plerois volitans [Linnaeus, 1758] / miles [Bennet, 1882] complex) is the first non-native marine fish that has established itself in the Western Atlantic. It was first reported in Florida in the 1980s and then spread across the entir...
متن کاملThe complete mitochondrial genome of the devil firefish Pterois miles (Bennett, 1828) (Scorpaenidae).
The complete mitochondrial genome of the devil firefish Pterois miles (Bennett, 1828) was obtained using next generation sequencing approaches. The genome sequence was comprised of 16,497 bp exhibiting the standard vertebrate mitochondrial gene arrangement. Regions of gene overlap, tRNA lengths, as well as start and stop codons were similar to those observed in closely related families (i.e. Se...
